Do I have to take art 1 before photo?

Yes! Art 1 is a prerequisite for photo 1.

Can I test out of Art 1?

I'm in art 1 now, which class should I take next?

You can take Photo 1 or Art 1. It's best to talk to your current teacher about which one is the best fit. You can always take both.

I want to do dual enrollment or work release, can I still take advanced art?

Yes! We work with guidance and administration to try to put our advanced courses during opportune times that will not affect students leaving school

What are the advantages of taking Art 1 as a freshman?

Taking Art 1 during your freshman year allows you to pursue many other interests later on. For example, you will have a lot more freedom to take higher level art classes such as Photography 3 and Art 3/4. Why do I have to take Art 1 before Photography 1?

Art 1 provides you with the foundation to be successful in photography. In Art 1, students learn the basics of composition as well as the process of solving an artistic problem from start to finish. In Photography, we utilize those same skills and build upon them in a different medium.
